Russian Credit For India
(Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW DELHI, September 2.
Russia had offered India a new credit of 100 m roubles (about £8,928,000 at . the official rate of exchange), the pro-Government newspaper, “Hindustan Times,” reported today. This was in addition to a credit of 500 m roubles (about £44,640,000) already announced. , A Soviet delegation is now m New Delhi to discuss details of the 500 m roubles credit which is expected to be used mainly to finance heavy machinery a’nd mining projects under the second five-year plan.
