Retrial Sought.—Caryl Chessman, the convicted sex offender, who has staved off his execution for nine years and written three books in his death cell at Sari Francisco, has won the right to take his case back to Los Angeles, where it began in 1948. Chessman claims the death of a Court reporter before transcription of his shorthand notes resulted in a fraudulent trial transcript—San Francisco, August 30.
