MALAYA’S SUPREME RULER.—Tuanku Sir Abdul Rahman, Ruler of Negri Sembilan, who has been elected by his fellow rulers as the. first Supreme Ruler of the Federation of Malaya. He is 62 years old and will be styled “His Majesty.” He will hold office for five years. This photograph was taken in Kuala Lumpur at the signing of the Malayan Independence Agreement. The first Prime Minister of Malaya is also named Abdul Rahman.
