TOWN PLANNING APPEAL
Heathcote To Seek Ruling The Heathcote County Council will ask the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board for a ruling on the council’s power to refuse to issue a building permit for an industrial building sought by Industrial Metals, Ltd. This decision was made by the council on Friday evening after a letter from the Hillcote Improvement Society had been considered. The letter said that the council had full power to prohibit activities of a firm which were of a “detrimental nature, and the cause of inconvenience, suffering, loss of health and other disabilities.” If relief was not granted by the council, the residents would seek redress in the Courts, the letter said. Notfication was also received that Industrial Metals, Ltd., had lodged an appeal against the council’s decision.
