American Gifts To N.Z. Libraries
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 30. About 24 New Zealand libraries are to receive gift sets, each containing about 350 books representative of American life, history, literature and art. The president of the New Zealand Library Association (Mr D. C. Pryor) in announcing this today, said the collections were presented by the Carnegie Corporation of New York as part of its British Dominions and colonies programme. The books, which are due to arrive shortly, would be received by university, training college, and larger public libraries and would be available to smaller libraries through the National Library Service. The books covered a wide range of literature and included many titles previously out of print.
