175ft Tower on Temple
The bronze spire adding the final 37ft to the 175 ft tower of the temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Tuhikaramea, near Hamilton, has now been erected. The temple stands on the crest of a hill overlooking the college which will be opened on February 10 next. Costing £330,000, exclusive of the value of much voluntary labour, the'five-storey white temple, with its huge tower, can be seen from Hamilton, five miles distant. At night it will be floodlit by a special power plant installed for the purpose.
