NEW HOTEL LICENCES

Harewood And Hornby Notice of their intentions to consider applications for new publicans' licences at Hornby and Flarewood have been given by the Selwyn and Christchurch Licensing Committees. The notices, advising that all applications for the licences must be filed within 60 days of publication of the third and final notices on September 16, append schedules defining the location of both new licences.

The proposed new licence for Harewood, applications for which will be considered by the Selwyn committee, outlines the following area in which the hotel is to be erected:—"At any point within the area defined commencing at a point at the junction of Greers road and Wairakei road, thence from that point along the southern side of Wairakei road to Wooldridges road, then along the eastern side of Wooldridges road to Corigna road, along the northern side of Coringa road and the eastern side of Avonhead road to Waimairi road, thence along the northern side of Waimairi road to Grahams road, along, the western side of Grahams road to Burnside road, thence along the northern side of Burnside road to Greers road, and .along the western side of Greers road to the point of commencement.”

The area in which the new licence will be granted in the Hornby district, to be considered by the Christchurch City Licensing Committee, is:—At any point within three furlongs of the Hornby post office. In both cases, intending applicants are asked to provide plans of the premises proposed and particulars of the site and the specific interest the particular applicant may have in the new licence.
