BRITISH M.P.s’ VISIT
Three Weeks In N.Z. (Neu) Zealand Press .Association* ’ WELLINGTON. August 30. Wing Commander R. G. Grant-! Ferris. Conservative M.P for Nantwich and Mr Frederick l-ee.l Labour M P. for the Newton division of Lancashire, are to make] a three weeks' tour of New Zea-, land. They will arrive at Auck-l land on September 8. Their tour, which is being i made under a Commonwealth' Parliamentary Association Scheme. ’ will include visits to Ruakura animal research station. Massey College and Lincoln College ( hydro works, and the pulp and paper-making industries. ■ They] will visit, Wellington on September 18 and 19. and will be guests at a luncheon' arranged by the New Zealand branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Mi. Grant-Ferris is a barrister. He was a fighter pilot during the war. He was. Parliamentary private secretary to the Minister ot Town and Country Planning *n 1944-45. and he is a former president of the National Sheepbreeders of Great Britain. Mr lx*e. a prominent trade unionist, was formerly Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Paymaster-General (Mr H. A. Marquand), and later to Sir Stafford Cripps, Chancellor of tbe Exchequer. He was Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and National Service in 1950-51.
