CADETS ON FLYING COURSE

A.T.C. Scholarship Boys At Wigram

About 11 hours flying in Austers will be part of the course eight Air Training Corps flying training scholarship cadets started at the R.N.Z.A.F. station, Wigram, this week. For most of them, it should lead to a solo flight before the course ends on September 13. The boys, from school units, are studying elementary aerodynamics, airmanship, meteorology and engines. This is the second group of eight scholarship cadets to train at Wigram this year. The only Christchurch boy on the course is N. J. Ferguson, of Christchurch Boys’ High School. From Westport Technical School is J. D. McHerron. Others are Cadets A. C. Bibby, of Matamata College, B. T. Parr, Avondale College, J. N. Cook, Seddon Memorial College, B. P. Dawkins, Naenae College, D.* G. Milward. Wanganui Technical College, and G. N. Lucas. Kings’ High School, Dunedin. The instructors are Flight Lieutenants J. Terry and F. Kinvig and Flying Officers T. Westlake and M. W. Hodge, all of the Central Flying School.
