AMATEUR RIDER APPEALS
• New Zeaiana Press Association) HASTINGS, August 21. The amateur rider, Mr R. P. Nolan, has appealed to the Hawke’s Bay District Committee against the three months’ suspension imposed on him by the judicial committee of the Hawke’s Bay and Dannevirke Hunt Clubs for alleged interference during the running of the Akitio Hunters’ Flat Race.
The appeal will be heard on September 4 in Hastings. Mr Nolan rode Tensing, which won the race but was relegated to forth after an inquiry.
It is understood that the continuation of the hearing of the adjourned appeal relating to the Whakatu Hurdles, at the Hawke's Bay winter meeting, will also be heard on September 4. In the Whakatu Hurdles, Bulla finished first but was placed second after an inquiry*
