Mr J. R. Maddren New President Mr J. R. Maddren was last evening elected president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, at the annual meeting and dinner. Messrs J. K. Dobson and R. H. Stewart were elected vicepresidents. Mr W. G. Quirke was elected treasurer.' Council members elected were: Messrs A. R. Cutler, A. Farrar, L. H. Govan. D. R. Hindson, C.
W. Mace, C. H. McPhail, H. G. Miller, E. C. Munt, W. M. Ollivier, R. G, Pearce, C. S. Peate, W. H. Price, G. A. W. Sandford, T. G. Shanks, T. S. Taylor, C. M. Thornton, R. H. Truscott, T. L. Uren, L. R. Webley and I. Woodfield. The meeting elected the following ac advisory members: W. A. Bascand, J. Bradley, H. B. Duckworth, T. H. Lawn, and H. C. Urlwin.
