Canterbury
Thirteen players have been nominated by the Canterbury selectors (Messrs J. D. Morton and N. J. McPhail) for the South Island team to play in the inter-island fixture at Auckland on August 17. They are:—E. Hern, D. A. Young, W. J. Whineray, S. F. Hill, R. H. Duff, H. C. Burry, N. S. Roberts, B. P. J. Molloy, S. G. Bremner, S. K. Henderson. A. E. G. Elsom, R. M. Smith. C. A. McDonald.
K. F. Meates and M. J. Dixon were originally nominated for the side, but neither is available because of injury. ,
