(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 4.
An unpleasantly strong wind adversely affected the standard of play, when North Auckland beat Counties bv a goal, a penalty goal, a dropped goal, and a try (14 points) to two penalty goals (6 points), at Papakura yesterday. North Auckland scored eight points against the wind in the first half, but was unable to make full use of its fast three-quarters line in the second half. C. Cunningham and K. A. Murphy scored tries for North Auckland, and M. Walter, the Maori fullback, kicked the goals. T. Thompson, the first five-eighths, kicked Counties’ goals.
