Northamptonshire, 287 for seven declared and 180 for six declared (Tribe 59 not out), beat Lancashire, 163 and 92 (Tribe five for 30), by 212 runs. Hampshire, 253 and 151 for one (Gray 82 not out), beat Warwickshire, 225 and 178 (Singh 58 not out. Cannings five for 60), by nine wickets. Yorkshire, 374 and 34 for one, beat Sussex, 243 and 164 (Oakman 52, Doegart 50), by nine wickets. Kent, 337 and 114 for four (Cowdrey 51 not out), beat Nottinghamshire, 265 and 184 (Springall 60), by eight wickets. Somerset, 364 for seven declared and 161 for nine declared (Silk 71 not out. Cold well six for 58) beat 'Worcestershire, 252 and 216 (Broadbent 76. McMahon six for 93). by 57 runs.
Essex, 113 end six for 377 declared (Barker 117, Insole 93), beat Middlesex, 274 and 144 (Gale 60, Preston five for 42), by 74 runs.
