Financial Loss In / Annual Report ■ The membership of bowlers has increased from 4149 last year to 4500. says the annual report to be presented to the annual meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre on July 23. Of the 62 clubs, Fendalton with 237 members and Elmwood (199) are the largest, and Sunnyside (12 members) is the smallest. A financial loss was shown by the centre for the second year in succession. This season the loss was £42 4s Id. With the abandonment of the Easter Tournament, the loss was less than had been expected, but as the Dominion championships will be held in Christchurch this season a further loss of revenue will follow, with the elimination of the Christmas tournament from the centre’s programme.
