SOCIAL CREDIT LEAGUE
Mr W. B. Owen Again Leader Delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Social Credit Political League held last week-end were unanimous that Mr W. B. Owen should continue as the political leader of the league. Mr Owen was not present at the conference because of an indisposition. The retiring president of the league (Mr W. M. Smith) was also re-elected unanimously. Other officers elected were:— Deputy political leader, Mr R. G. Young; North Island vicepresident, Mr R. Roberts; South Island vice-president. Miss M. H. M. King; Dominion secretary, Mr J. G. Colechin; Dominion treasurer, Mr E. R. D’An vers; auditor, Mr A. R. McKay; Dominion council, Messrs L. Tuffrey, J. E. Feist, R. N. Courlander, A. E. Collins, T. F. Penrose, P. J. J. McMullen, with Mr A. Awatere representing the Maori people. Conveners of eight standing committees elected were:— Miss King, Messrs Tuffrey, P. H. Matthews, F. C. Jordan, G. W. Greensmith, M. J. Welsh, Owen and Smith.
