Indian Lances For Horse Club
A set of 24 Indian cavalry lances was presented to the riders of the Hamilton Light Horse Club tr- the High Commisioner for India (Mr P. A. Menon) at the Claudelands Show Grounds. The lances were a gift from General K. M. Cariappa. a former High Commissioner for Australia and New Zealand. When he was in New Zealand he attended a Waikato show at which he was honoured by a salute from the Hamilton Light Horse Club. Mr Menon said he had been asked as a personal favour by General Cariappa to present the lances, which came from the Indian Army.
