Canberra M.P.s Get Pay Rise
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) CANBERRA, May 22. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate have been granted a pay rise of about £ll5 a year by the Federal Government. The increase is retrospective to the beginning of May. The rise is an increase from £2 10s a day to £3 13s 6d a day in the Canberra allowance. The members have been told by the leader of the Government in the House of Representatives and Minister of Labour, Mr Holt, that this is the last pay rise they will receive during the life of the present Parliament. . .’
