WHITE HERONS NEAR KAITUNA
Shooters Warned Nine white herons were seen near Kaituna yesterday afternoon by Mr V. Henderson, a ranger of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. He saw five a f Kaituna, one further along the lakeside road, and three at Greenpark Sands. Shooters in the area should exercise the greatest care not to shoot white herons, said Mr Henderson. The birds were protected, and heavy penalties could be imposed on any person shooting one.
