Auckland Beats Bay Of Plenty
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 22. Auckland beat Bay of Plenty by 33*" points, (six goals and a penalty goal) to 6 (two tries) in the opening Coronation Shield match at Eden Park' this afternoon. Conditions were ideal. H. L. White (2), H. K. Emery. C. Craigie, L. C Russell, and D F. Menzies scored Auckland’s tries. T. J. Riley converted all of these and kicked a penalty goal. R. Curran and F. Martinovich scored tries fo r Bay of Plenty. ALTERATION TO DRAW Alteration to Rugby draw for Saturday, May 25: Under 6st 71b, A Sect.—Lytt. v. Shirley 8.H.5., at Lyttelton, 10.30 a.m. (B. G. King).
