New Zealand freezing works consume more than 32,000,000 gallons of water daily, an average of 1,000,000 gallons for each works. This is enough water to supply the daily needs of a town with a population of 10.000 peopde. Consumption at works ranges from 100 to 400 gallons a lamb unit.
