Defence of Canal Zone.— A two-: day training exercise and demonstration of asault techniques, intended to test the defences of the Panama Canal, has begun. Caribex, as the exercise is called, is one of the largest of its kind held in the Canal Zone area for many years, using more than 16.000 men. 200 aircraft and 31 naval vessels J Defence ministers, chiefs of staff and other high military represen-' tatives of 18 Latin American countries are on hand to observe the exercise.—Balboa.
