Swift Gold May Succeed

''The Press” Special Service m AUCKLAND, May 3. The jumpers will be the main attraction on the first day of the Waikato Racing Club’s winter meeting at Te Rapa tomorrow. Those with the best performances are in the Waikato Hurdles, the main’ race on the programme.

Swift Gold, The McDonough, and Hickory Stick are likely to dispute the finish. If Swift Gold wins he will have performed a notable feat, because, he is a maiden as jumpers go, having had six attempts for two seconds and two fourths. The second placings were at his latest starts when he showed better confidence and general all-round improvement. The McDonough is the top-weight with 11-11, which is 111 b more than he won with last year. Swift Gold has 9-4 and Hickory Stick 9-5. The double will be run on the Hamilton Handicap and the Maeroa Handicap. Straight Lead and Turkman are the popular fancies for the Hamilton Handicap.
