Mr Peter Tait, of Napier, has been appointed a member of the New’ Zealand Patriotic Fund Board.—(P.A.) •
Mr S. G. Farquhar will represent the Canterbury Education Board on the Papanui High School board of governors in place of Mr A. Greenwood, who has resigned because of other commitments. Mr H. Jackson, who has been honorary secretary of the Opawa Public Library for more than 22 years, retired from the position recently. He received a presentation from the library committee. The Canterbury Education Board has awarded Gammack Scholarships to Miss G. M. Pratt (Christchurch Girls’ High School), Miss P. Gamble (St. Margaret’s College), and B. G. Jenkin (Timaru Boys’ High School).
