THIRD DROWNING PREVENTED
(New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, April 19. A young Hamilton woman, Miss Mary Brown, recently prevented a third drowning. On the third occasion, about two weeks, ago, she saved a middle-aged woman from the Waikato river, and last February, in strong seas at Waihi, she rescued a young girl and a man from the surf. Miss Brown is a parish assistant at St. Aidan’s Church. The save from the river was made shortly after 5 a.m. one morning when mist hid the river, and after the Brown household had been aroused by neighbours who had heard a woman’s cries for help. Jhe woman was floating down the river.
