Markets Firm At Close
Prices were firm on the Christchurch Stock Exchange at the last call before the Easter recess, Thursday morning. Turnover, as is usual on the eve of a holiday, was light.
N.Z. Breweries advanced further to sell at 47s 3d and 47s 6d. Wright Stephenson, Coles and Woolworths also showed gains on last Christchurch business. Bank of N.S.W., N.Z. Insurance and N.Z. Farmers’ Co-operative A preference sold at steady rates.
New Zealand stock exchanges will reopen on Monday, April 29.
