Trotsky’s Widow To Go To U.S.
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, April 18;
Mrs Natalia Trotsky, widow of Leon Trotsky, one of the leaders of the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, has been admitted to the United States so that the United States Government can tap her vast knowledge of the Soviet Union’s early years and of world communism generally,’ the “New York Times” reported today. The newspaper said that Lieu-tenant-General Joseph M. Swing, the Commissioner of Naturalisation and Immigration, said yesterday that Mrs Trotsky had been admitted “for Government purposes.” Mrs Trotsky, now aged 75, has spent the last 20 years in Mexico.
