British Petrol Rationing

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 15. Petrol rationing in Britain must stay for the time being, the Pay-master-General (Mr Reginald Maudling) said today. There have been reports that an announcement ending rationing might be made in a day or two. Asked in the House of Commons when he would announce the end of petrol rationing, Mr Maudling said he had stated previously that this depended on the assurance of an adequate and regular flow of supplies. Motorists are now getting enough petrol for 300 miles a month.
