CROWD AT ROYAL SILVER AUCTION.—Christie’s auction rooms in London were crowded for the auction of old English silver belonging to the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood. A George III soup tureen and cover, made in 1814, bearing the Royal coat of arms and crest, were sold for £550. All the 255 items for auction were from Harewood House, Leeds, and included an outstanding Charles II toilet set, finely chased in Chinese figures.
