Rockets For Britain

HAMILTON (Bermuda), Mar. 22. President Eisenhower will discuss the supply of fully armed atomic rockets to Britain during the second day of the Bermuda conference with the British Prime Minister, Mr Macmillan, today. The President came armed with a preliminary study of the legislation necessary to amend the laws which at present preclude the supply of atomic weapons, including warheads for various rockets which the United States will supply to Britain. The provision of atomic rockets is considered one of the most important elements in British plans to reduce global defence commitments, coincident with the extension of United States efforts. Mr Macmillan will insist that Britain’s planned military cuts are an absolute economic necessity.
