Execution Method
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 8. The Government is prepared to abolish hanging as a means of execution for murderers if some more humane method can be found, the Lord Chancellor. Lord Kilmuir. told the House of Lords last night, the “Daily Mail” reported. Lord Amulree. a doctor, speaking on the Government’s Homicide Bill, suggested that a simple method of execution would be by lethal gas, with six taps turned by six people. “Only one tap would contain the gas, and no-one would know who was responsible for the execution, Lord Amulree said.
