SWIMMING NEW NATIONAL RECORDS

Aucklanders’ Success (New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 3. Seven national records were lowered by a group of Auckland swimmers in special attempts at the tepid bath last night. One swim sufficed for Miss Kay Sawyer to break four of these. The new national records set were:— 100 Yards Men’s Butterfly.—B. Francevic; time, 63.35ec (old record 65sec). 100 Yards Intermediate and Senior Breaststroke.—Miss K. Sawyer; time 80.2 sec (89.9 sec and 80.4 sec). 110 Yards Senior Breaststroke.— Miss K. Sawyer; time, 88.6 sec (91.4 sec) also sets an intermediate record. 50 Yards Women’s Freestyle.—Mrs V. Blomfield; time, 27sec (27.25ec). 220 Yards Men's Breaststroke.—C. Hilt; time, 2min 50.7 sec (2min 51.8 sec). AMBULANCE SPORTS The annual swimming sports of the Christchurch cadet corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade were held in the Woolston baths on Saturday afternoon. Results were:— Learners’ width: C.
