Double Century , For Everest (New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, March 3. . The Waikato captain, J. K. Everest, marked his retirement from representative cricket by scoring 264 of his side's first innings total of 425 on the second day of a Hawke Cup match against Manawatu at Seddon Park, Hamilton, yesterday. Everest is not available for selection for Waikato against the Australians this month and his last appearance in cricket will be in a club game. He scored his 264 in 485 minutes and hit one six and 27 fours. Waikato's 425 gave it a first innings lead of 250 and assured it of retention of the cup. The most successful Manawatu bowler was D. R. Tarrant, who deserved his five wickets. N. Reid and D. D, Beard came through a hard day with credit. Scores: Manawatu: first innings 175, second innings four for no wicket.
