A former Mayer | of Auckland and a noted benefac--1 tor of the city, ne has been yaenting on the Waitemata for 72 >’ and has been a member of yacht clubs for 70 years. Sir Ernest Davis is a former owner of ’-he Morewa. which he gave to the defence authorities during the Second World War. He also owned the famous Viking, which now belongs to Mr Brian Todd, cf Wellington, and sail* on the Wellington harbour.
