AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL LIGHTING OF FIRES PUBLIC NOTICE is given under Sections 20 and 21 of The Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1955. that the lighting of fires in the open in the whole of the Amuri County Area is prohibited. While this order is in force no person shall set on fire or cause to be set on fire in the open air any trees or timber (whether standing or not), bracken, flax, gorse, broom, lupin, grass, stubble or other plants whatsoever or any debris from forest or land clearing operations or any other combustible material whatsoever except pursuant to the written permit of the undersigned. This prohibition does not apply to fires in well constructed camp fireplaces situated 10 feet from trees or other combustible material. (Grass and other combustible material must be cleared for 10 feet around the fireplace, and fires completely extinguished before leaving the site.)
