Present For Yvette Corlett (New Zealand Press, Association) AUCKLAND, January 18. New Zealand’s greatest woman athlete, Mrs Yvette Corlett, has received a gift from the Polish girl who broke her broad jump record at the Olympic Games at Melbourne. Elzbeta Krzesinska. the new champion, has sent Mrs Corlett a beautifully worked Olympic banner. Mrs Corlett set a world record of 20ft 7J in at Helsinki in 1956. Elzbeta jumped 20ft lOin later and took the Olympic title at Melbourne with 20ft 9in. Examination For Midwives (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 18. The Nurses’ and Midwives’ Board announces the following passes in the State examination for midwives held in December. 1956: Christchurch passes:—M. M. Arbuckle (hons.), K. W. Black, L. H. Bowen. D.
