U.S. Citizens In Hungary
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON. Jan. 16. The State Department is investigating reports that Hungarian officials seized Richard Roraback, aged 26, a United States citizen, who was a volunteer worker assisting Hungarian refugees. The department spokesman, Mr Lincoln White, said the department had reports that Mr Roraback was allegedly apprehended on the Austrian-Hungarian frontier some days ago. While the department had no confirmation of this, Mr White said, Mr Roraback had not returned to Vienna. Mr White said the Hungarian Government had informed the department that a United States woman photographer would be put on trial in Budapest on charges of entering the country without a visa. The photographer, Mrs Dickie Meyer Chapelle. disappeared near lhe border with Austria on December 9.
