THE HOPE OF THE SCRIPTURES. God has given to the sons of men One Hope, and that is THE HOPE OF ISRAEL, spoken of in the Scriptures, the only source of inspiration for man. Salvation depends upon acceptance and permanent holding of this hope. Rom. 8:24. This was the hope established with the Jewish nation by the promises made to the fathers of that nation: Acts 26:6. “In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed, and if ye be Christs then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promises”: Gal. 3:29. To Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds as of many; but as of ONE. and to thy seed which is Christ. Paul the Apostle declared that the covenant with Abraham provides for an everlasting inheritance of the earth by Christ and His redeemed, thus agreeing with David: Psa. 2:8.
