ALLEGED ASSAULT ON CHINESE
YOUTH REMANDED AT DUNEDIN (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 17. Ronald James Thornton, a workman, aged 20, was remanded to January 24 in the Dunedin Magistrate’s Court this morning before Mr J. G. Warrington, S.M., on a charge of the robbery with violence of Hoy Gum Chung, a 63-year-old Chinese, on January 14. in Dunedin. Chung’s condition is reported to be serious. He is suffering from a broken back.
