FEATHER-WEIGHT TITLE VACANT (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) MILWAUKEE. (Wisconsin). Jan. 16. The executive committee of the National Boxin? Association today declared Sandv Saddler’s world feather-weight title vacant because of his failure to sign for a title defence. Mr Fred Saddy, chairman of the association’s rating committee, said Saddler had been given plenty oi time to Sign or be medically examined. Mr Saddy said that a title elimination series would be set up to find a successor to Saddler. In the association’s latest ratings. Cherif Hamia, Miguel Berrios. Flash Elorde, and Carmelo Costa were listed in that order as contenders to Saddler’s title.
Saddler was injured in a motorcar accident last July, and has not fought since.
