Murder Charge At Eastbourne
(Rec. 10.15 p.m.) EASTBOURNE (England), Jan. 5. Dr. John Bodkin Adams, aged 57, was remanded until January 14 today when he appeared for two minutes before a Magistrate’s Court charged with murder. Dr. Adams will face a preliminary hearing on January 14 on a charge of murdering one of his patients, Mrs Edith Morrell, a wealthy 81-year-old widow, in 1950, and committing other offences, including forgery and larceny. He wore a sprig of lavender in the buttonhole of his suit while in Court today. Asked if he had anything to say why he should not be remanded. Dr. Adams replied, “No, sir.”
