Magga Dan Reaches Halley Base
(Rec. 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 5.
The 2100-ton motor-ship Magga Dan, carrying members of two expeditions to the Antarctic, has arrived at Halley Base in Vahsel Bay, on the edge of Antarctica, it was announced in London today. The Commonwealth TransAntarctic expedition and the Royal Society said in a joint communique that the ship arrived at Halley Bay on Friday with Dr. Vivian Fuchs and members of the Trans - Antarctic expedition together with members of the main party of the Royal Society expedition.
