(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) COLOMBO, January 2. At this week’s Ceylon tea sales 6,714,6171 b was offered. There was a good general demand with buyers from all centres operating freely. Prices were:—Highgrown bop, 350 cents a lb; good medium bop, 290 cents; medium liquoring bop, 270 cents; medium liquoring orange pekoe, 250 cents: medium liquoring broken pekoe, 222 cents: medium pekoe fanning, 283 cents; low medium bop, 255 cents; low medium pekoe fanning, 255 cents; low medium orange pekoe, 225 cents; low medium pekoe, 245 cents; low medium dusts, 210 cents. Deficiency Payments On Beef.—The Meat Export Prices Committee advises that deficiency payments on beef killed for export during the week ending January 5 have been declared as follows:—chilled beef. IJd lb; frozen ox and heifer quarter beef (including baby beef), gd lb; frozen cow quarter beef, Id lb.— (P.A.)
