Surveys of the famous grotto at the Waitomo Caves today showed that little damage was caused by the flooding *here earlier in the week. After a cloudburst on Sunday night, the Waitomo stream, which flows through the glow-worm grotto, rose 10ft, but the manager of the Waitomo Hotel (Mr C. E. Brown) said today that not many glowworms had been destroyed. The access road to the two other caves. Ruakura and Aranui. was blocked by flooding, but the caves were not affected, he said.
