WOTTING Win For Zagar In Main Handicap At Motukarara

Zagar as driven by the trainer's son, J. t Butterick. and beat his stablegte- Macklin which was the more ivcured of the two, by two and a df lengths. Zagar was never far away in the mmng and he finished strongly, is broke when hit with the whin mat 30 yards from the post. Howrer. he was well clear and in no -user of defeat.

Butterick won a second race on tm programme when Lawsuit had a rand win over Worthy Bov in the juirvell Handicap.

Suzendy soon took charge and was tot troubled to hold her lead over the final stages of the race. Bonnie Castle was always handily placed and she finished on solidly for wcond. two lengths in front of Pole Star, which made a bold showing. He was having his first start in Canterbury and did well to take third place, a length and a half in front of Cossack Post, with Signor making up ground for fifth, ahead of another ukely improver in Reason Why.
