BRITISH CAR INDUSTRY NEAR “CRISIS”

LONDON, December 20. “Unless the British Government finds some immediate way of allowing the motor industry to maintain reasonable production and sales, there is no prospect of maintaining exports.’’ said Lord Tedder, at the annual meeting of the Standard Motor Company, of which he is chairman. There was every prospect of “the whole industry being involved at a very early date ,in a dangerous crisis, with all that is involved for its labour force and its shareholders,’’ said Lord Tedder.
