TEMUKA STOCK SALE
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, December 18. At the Temuka sale today values hardened fully £2 a head in a yarding of 80 head of fat cattle, quality for the most part being poor. More than two races of fat sheep and 250 fat lambs met a keen inquiry from exporters and butchers, with values for wethers appreciating fully 3s a head. In the yarding of store sheep late rates held extra firm. Values were: —
Fat cattle: steers, good, £26 to £3O 12s 6d; medium, £2O to £25 17s 6d; light, £l4 2s 6d to £l9. Heifers, good, £22 to £26 12s 6d; medium, £l6 to £2l 17s 6d; light, £l2 7s 6d tp £l5 17s 6d. Cows, good, £l3 to £l5 7s 6d; medium, £ll to £l2 17s 6d; light, £3 2s 6d to £lO 17s 6d. Fat sheep: hoggets, good, 70s to 76s Id; wethers, good. 74s to 79s Id; medium, 70s to 73s lOd; light, 65s Id to 69s lOd. Ewes, good, 28s to 30s; medium, 26s to 27s lOd; light 23s to 265. Lambs, good, 70s to 76s Id: others 55s Id to 695. Store sheep: wether hoggets (shorn), 57s to 62s 6d; ewess and lambs all counted, 35s to 40s 6d; ewe hoggets (shorn), 60s to 795.
