FIGHT IN RESTAURANT

THREE MEN SENT TO GAOL (New Zeatana Press Association) WELLINGTON. December 17. Sauce bottles, salt and pepper shakers, crockery, tables, and chairs were thrown about and a plate-glass window was smashed when three seamen from the Tasmanian Star were involved in a fight in the Hot Dog Restaurant, Farish street, early yesterday morning. Mr M. B. Scully, S.M., was told this in the Magistrate’s Court today, when Ronald Kirk, aged 23, a seaman. Mathew Evans, aged 25, a cleaner, and John Mcßride, aged 19i a seaman, appeared on charges of assault and wilful damage. The three were charged with damaging chairs and property worth £lB. and Evans was also charged with assault. Mcßride was also charged with wilfully damaging one window and women’s underwear of a total value of £BO. The accused pleaded guilty and each was sent to gaol for 14 days.
