CHARTERIS BAY CLUB Three races were sailed at Charteris Bay on Sunday in rough north-easterly conditions. Many capsizes and minor mishaps kept the rescue launch busy. In the Z class trial, Junie, sailed by D. Eastmond, was the only boat to finish. Results were:— Pennant Race (Open Handicap) (race started 2 p.m.).—X.L. (G. Anderson), scr, 3.5.38 p.m., 1; Vaila (F. WELLINGTON ENTRANT FOR TANNER CUP (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 15. By winning three races, P. Julian gained selection as Wellington's P Class representative in the Tanner Cup national yachting championships this season. Julian won his third race this morning, and scored a fifth win this afternoon to win the trials series. Racing at Heretaunga. off Petone Beach, Julian led his Evans Bay clubmate. R. Bradley, by 90 points when the series finished.
