TIMBER PRICES INCREASED
RISE OF ROUGHLY 5 PER CENT. (New Zeaiana Press Association) DUNEDIN, December 17. A rise in the price of timber has been secured by the New Zealand Timber Merchants’ Federation. This was announced today by the president of the Otago Timber Merchants’ Association (Mr A. L. Hogg), who said the lise took effect from December 10. The increase in the schedule of rates varied, he said, but it was roughly 5 per cent The rise was virtually automatic after the recent general wage increase and the subsequent rise in freight charges
